Oman Climate Week to be Held in Muscat

Oman Environment Authority has announced that it will hold the inaugural Oman Climate Week in Muscat from February 24-27, 2025.

Organisers explained that the event series will explore the cooperation required to deliver a 1.5°C-aligned outcome in 2025, with a focus on collaboration across governments and sectors to reduce climate impact.  

Focus themes will include:

  • Climate Mitigation,
  • Climate Adaptation,
  • Climate Finance,
  • Carbon Markets,
  • Climate Technologies,
  • Loss & Damage, and
  • Social Inclusion.

Oman Climate Week, which reportedly aims to bring together global industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators, will host talks and workshops and preview the latest technologies across various industries, it was shared.

Commenting on the need for accelerated action, H.E. Dr Abdullah Bin Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, said that scaling up investments in climate resilience is “essential for survival.”

“Urgent action is needed on financing, adapting to climate impacts, and cutting emissions,” added the Environment Authority Chairman.
