“The declaration of 2023 as the ‘Year of Sustainability’ by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, reaffirms the value our wise leadership has placed on sustainability to achieve economic growth while protecting the environment for our future generations,” H.E Masaood Ahmed Al Masaood, Chairman of Al Masaood Group, said on Tuesday.

The theme of the Sustainability Year, ‘Today for Tomorrow’, reflects the UAE’s desire to create a better tomorrow for future generations and to continue playing a leading role in advancing sustainable development, addressing environmental and climatic challenges, H.E Masaood Ahmed Al Masaood added in a statement.

“This is in keeping with the philosophy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the nation. This announcement is particularly significant in terms of timing as it coincides with the ‘Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2023’ and is in the runup to the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28), which will be hosted in UAE later this year,” he added.

He also reaffirmed the group’s commitment to promote sustainability as a fundamental pillar and incorporate it in the group’s strategies and value offerings by providing sustainable solutions and products that cover various vital sectors – especially energy, mobility, power, industrial, and marine services.

Since its inception, Al Masaood Group has aligned its objectives and strategies with the vision of the nation’s wise leadership to build a diverse and sustainable economy that is powered by knowledge and innovation, he said.

“All our divisions have taken sustainability as a core component of their business agenda to support the UAE Net Zero 2050 strategic initiative and UAE’s Sustainability Targets. We once again reiterate our commitment to support the national transition towards a more sustainable and diverse economy,” H.E Masaood Ahmed Al Masaood added.
