A new report from Energy Efficiency Movement, and supported by leading global industrial players including ABB, Alfa Laval and Microsoft, shows businesses how they can save 11% of global emissions by 2030.
The report “The Case for Industrial Energy Efficiency” shares ten mature, and scalable energy efficiency key actions, that rely on proven technologies, and reduce costs, and emissions.
The actions are divided into three strategic pillars: building an efficiency foundation, driving efficiency returns, and gaining efficiency insights.
With regard to costs, the report outlines that for five of the ten actions where financial savings can be “meaningfully calculated,” the industry could be saving $178 billion a year in 2024, and $452 billion annually by 2030.
It also notes that using the “more ambitious scenario” the savings go up to $491 billion annually.
The EEM is a global forum of more than 400 organisations that share ideas, best practices and commitments with the aim of creating a more energy-efficient world.
