WaterWipes Survey indicates plastic-free preference among parents in the UAE and KSA

by Madaline Dunn

WaterWipes recently conducted a survey that revealed 93 per cent of those in the UAE and KSA are more likely to choose plastic-free baby wipes. This, the company said, indicates a clear awareness of the connotations of plastic usage in baby products.

Sustainability and health were reported to be key considerations by parents in the UAE and KSA, with 84 per cent citing the significance of choosing products that protect their children’s health.

Additionally, 92 per cent of respondents shared that they believe it is important that products for their children are environmentally friendly – 55 deemed it “extremely important.”

Further, it was found that 69 per cent of parents consistently check ingredient lists for products intended for their children, while 51 per cent do so for their own products.

Meanwhile, 76 per cent of parents underlined the importance of safety certifications.

Eighty-seven per cent, meanwhile, prioritised minimal ingredients in products for their children, with 40 per cent marking it as extremely important.

Speaking on the findings, Dr Emer Gilligan, External Affairs Director at WaterWipes, said: “The discerning and conscious choices made by today’s parents are steering towards sustainability and health, as our survey reveals. Our Plastic-Free* Wipes, crafted with 99.9% purified water and a drop of fruit extract, not only help cater to this demand but also assure parents of a gentle choice for their newborn’s delicate skin, while concurrently taking another step on our sustainability journey.”
