SEE Institute reveals line up of initiatives for COP28

by Madaline Dunn

SEE Institute has shared it will participate in COP28, and host a range of workshops and exhibitions, two climate talk series, and an educational movie, dedicated to inspiring younger minds, called SEED.

SEE Institute called SEED an immersive educational experience and noted that it will be screened in a customised digital arena.

The animation encourages younger audiences to make responsible decisions about six elements of sustainability: food, energy, water, products, mobility, and waste. It will take place in the Green Education Hub Cop 28 between November 30th and December 12th, 2023, from 10 am until 5 pm.

Further, in partnership with the UAE’s Ministry of Education and SEE Holding, the Sustainable Waste Management Workshop, led by SEE Holding’s waste management arm, Tadweer, will encourage strategies for a cleaner tomorrow. It is free entry for all, with no prior registration required. It will also take place at the Green Education Hub Cop 28 – Green Zone on December 6th, 2023, between 1:30 and 2:30 pm.

Another workshop, “Bridging the Gap Between Management & Sustainability” is a bespoke workshop, tailored for senior management at LONGI, and will deliver practical and theoretical knowledge in the areas of sustainability and renewable energy. This workshop will take place at SEE Institute, The Sustainable City, Dubai, on the 6th December, between 2pm and 5pm.

Elsewhere, Climate Talk Series: Climate Actions in the Built Environment will bring together leading voices in the field. This series of panels and talks evaluates challenges and promotes sustainability solutions in the built environment.

The Climate Talk Series is in partnership with UN Habitat and the Supreme Council of Energy.

Taking place at the SEE Institute, The Sustainable City, Dubai, the series will run on December 7th, 2023, between 2 pm and 5 pm.

SEE Institute is also hosting an exhibition of sustainability-inspired art and design pieces by students from the College of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Sharjah.

In addition, a series of short films directed and produced by students will be screened with the aim of highlighting the importance of the collective effort to achieve a greener future. The event will be located at the SEE Institute, The Sustainable City, Dubai, on December 9th, 2023, between 11 am and 3 pm.

Finally, its Climate Talk Series: Cultivating Change will focus on encouraging sustainable consumption behaviour for a greener world and held in partnership with the UAE’s Ministry of Education and Sanad, the region’s largest centre dedicated to understanding autism and other related disorders. This event will be found at the Green Education Hub, Cop 28 – Green Zone, on December 12th, 2023 between 12 pm and 2 pm.
