This year, more than 100 climate tech startups will showcase their work at COP28 UAE’s Start Up Village in the Green Zone.
These startups’ specialisms range from sustainable transport and agriculture to solar energy.
At COP28 the private sector and technology are in the spotlight, and being highlighted for the role they can play in delivering climate action on the required scale.
According to research, climate technologies could at least double their contribution to global growth, while removing up to 25 billion tons of carbon emissions annually.
Alongside the Start Up Village, COP28 is also hosting a dedicated Technology and Innovation Hub.
Some of the startups on display in the Green Zone include Mazi Mobility, a Kenyan-based mobility company, Arizona-based startup, SolarSpace, RedSea, FlyNow Aviation GmbH, PLATFARM, a UAE-based agritech company, GARBALISER, and ECOLOO.
The Startup Village is located in the Green Zone and will be open to the public from 3 -12 December.
It is open to the public, private sectors, media, youth, NGOs, as well as delegates and guests of the UNFCCC-managed Blue Zone for two weeks.
