‘Year of Sustainability’ extended into 2024

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, has announced that the ‘Year of Sustainability’ will be extended into 2024.

Announced on X (formerly Twitter) to mark the UAE’s National Environment Day, HH wrote: “On the occasion of National Environment Day, we announce that the Year of Sustainability is extended into 2024, reflecting our ongoing collective commitment to protect and preserve the environment for the benefit of future generations. Building on the UAE Consensus achieved at COP28, we will continue to work hand in hand with the global community to pursue a more sustainable future for all.”

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and HH Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, are set to oversee the 2024 year-long activations with further announcements on activities and initiatives to be made soon, it was shared.
