The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) recently conducted its tree planting programme, “For Our Emirates We Plant,” in partnership with Abu Dhabi Municipality, represented by the Shahama Municipality Centre.
During her opening address, Dr. Habiba Al Mar’ashi, Chairperson of Emirates Environmental Group, highlighted the participation of partnering entities, including The Galleria Al Maryah Island, Rotary Club of Dubai, Den Hartogh Logistics DMCC and Tune Protect EMEIA.
These organisations pledged and planted 500 saplings of native trees.
It was highlighted that 2,127,600 indigenous trees have been successfully planted by EEG to-date, resulting in the mitigation of 12,545.82 metric tons of CO2.
She also emphasised the importance of preserving biodiversity and the role of tree planting in mitigating CO2 emissions.
Prior to the commencement of the activities, guidelines for tree planting and environmental stewardship were shared.
