Innovo Joins the United Nations Global Compact

by Madaline Dunn

Innovo has become a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), it was announced this week.

The UNGC, which launched in 2000, is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, with over 20,000 participants in over 160 countries.

The initiative comprises ten principles across environment, human rights, labour and anti-corruption. Signatories commit to supporting these principles and the broader societal goals of the UNGC, including the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which include ‘no poverty’, ‘good health and wellbeing’ and ‘clean water and sanitation’.

This week, the Middle Eastern property developer also announced it had been awarded the ‘ESG Label’ by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

The label, launched earlier this year, is a framework and developmental tool designed to help organisations evaluate their ESG readiness and maturity levels, gain recognition for their efforts, and foster business growth.

“We are pleased to have received this recognition and have committed to increasing our investment in advancing sustainable practices in the built environment,” said Bishoy Amzy, Chief Executive Officer of Innovo. “We remain dedicated to our aim of leading the industry in sustainability and will continue to improve our practices in pursuit of that goal.”

In addition, Innovo has announced its partnership with sustainable technology company KarbonWise, a platform that analyses climate and ESG data to help companies make informed sustainability decisions.

“We are proud of our acknowledgement from Dubai Chamber of Commerce and have reiterated our commitment to sustainability through the UNGC, and our partnership with KarbonWise”, commented David Robinson, Health and Sustainability Director at Innovo.

“These announcements reflect our consistent efforts to improve standards and drive the built environment towards a more environmentally friendly and socially beneficial future.”
