DHL and Islamic financial institution Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) have renewed a strategic partnership, whereby ADIB will utilise the DHL GoGreen Plus service.
According to ADIB, which was the first bank in the MENA to switch to DHL GoGreen Plus, this service will reduce indirect emissions by 70 per cent for international air shipments.
“Our renewed partnership with DHL reflects ADIB’s commitment to driving tangible progress toward a more sustainable future for our communities. By continuing to integrate DHL’s GoGreen Plus service, which will help us achieve a 70% reduction in Scope 3 CO2 emissions compared to conventional air shipping methods, we get closer to accomplishing our ambitious environmental targets,” commented Bushra Alshehhi, Group Chief Human Resources Officer at ADIB and chairman of Kawader.
“We value DHL’s partnership and support as we work together toward a more sustainable future,” added Alshehhi.
The initiative will reportedly undergo ongoing verification by an independent body accredited by Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS). ADIB will also receive a certificate facilitated by SGS through the partnership agreement, it was shared.
