Madayn’s KOM, Solar Wadi Company Announce Solar PV Power Plant Plans

Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), the technology arm of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, Madayn, has announced that it has signed an agreement with Solar Wadi Company to establish a Solar PV Power Plant in Oman. 

Priced at RO 500,000, the technology arm shared that the 1.4 MW Solar PV Power Plant will be installed and operational within a year at KOM, with a 25-year contract for installation, operation, and maintenance.

Further, KOM noted that this agreement aligns with Madayn’s objective to promote clean energy and contribute to the Sultanate’s efforts to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. 

Other key areas of focus for Madayn include managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste, controlling liquid waste disposal into marine environments, reducing emissions of air and noise pollutants, mitigating land pollution, and optimising water and energy consumption, among others.
