AGMC, the official distributor of Geely Auto in the UAE, is launching the all-new GEELY EX5 EM-i plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). This launch spearheads a landmark long-term commitment to the Geely New Energy Vehicle (NEV) brand.

Following the successful launch of the all-electric GEELY EX5, the award-winning GEELY EX5 EM-i takes the mainstream, economical C-SUV segment to the next level. Built on Geely’s latest Global Intelligent Electric Architecture (GEA) and equipped with EM-i Super Hybrid System, this next-generation plug-in hybrid SUV redefines the standards for its segment thanks to a revolutionary product philosophy.
The GEELY EX5 EM-i’s plug-in hybrid technology gives drivers an impressive range of up to 1,065km. On pure electric power, the GEELY EX5 EM-’i’s range is 170km. Powered by a 1.5L petrol engine and a 29.8kwh battery, the GEELY EX5 EM-i offers up to 317hp and up to 387Nm of torque. The system achieves world-leading engine thermal efficiency of 46.5%.
The ultra-long range and record-breaking fuel consumption – as low as 4.3L/100km – makes the GEELY EX5 EM-i ideal for daily commutes and long, leisurely drives. Connectivity is maintained through the Flyme Auto System featuring user-friendly voice commands, a 16-speaker entertainment, and Geely APP that allows for remote cabin pre-cooling and checking the vehicle’s location.
A minimalist, modern international exterior design philosophy reflects Geely’s dedication to creating vehicles that look great, while still offering world class performance. The sleek yet powerful body shape is crafted from nine sculpted, curved surfaces. A floating design language and continuous light strip for the front of the vehicle reflect the full-width taillights.
Inside, drivers and passengers can enjoy a spacious, premium interior. There are more than 30 clever storage solutions, offering a total capacity of 2,056L (seats folded), including 428L trunk capacity and an additional 100L in a discreet underfloor compartment. Ergonomic seats feature a eight-layer cushion for total comfort and three-level ventilation. The MAX+ variant includes a panoramic sunroof, 15.4-inch infotainment display, and 256-colour ambient interior lighting.
For weekend adventures, the GEELY EX5 EM-i’s camping mode offers one-touch cabin optimisation, adjusting lighting and music. It also enables an external power supply, transforming the vehicle into a versatile hub for enjoying the best of the UAE outdoors.

By blending structural integrity with intelligent monitoring, the GEELY EX5 EM-i delivers a comprehensive safety fortress for every journey, having earned top-tier five-star ratings in both the Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) and ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program) safety assessments.
Built on the GEA architecture, the GEELY EX5 EM-i prioritises safety through a triple-power redundancy system to eliminate range anxiety. Its robust structural design features a cloverleaf force-dispersing concept and a six horizontal, four vertical safety cell, redirecting impact forces to protect the fuel tank and battery.
The “sandwich” battery underguard offers high-strength, lightweight protection, validated by more than 100 tests in extreme conditions. Occupants are shielded by six large-volume airbags, including integrated side curtains. Active safety is managed via a 360-degree suite, utilising high-precision cameras and dual millimetre-wave radars, to provide lane assistance and collision mitigation.
