Tadweer Group’s 2025 sustainability report highlights progress across environmental, social and governance areas as the company strengthens Abu Dhabi’s waste and resource management sector.
Tadweer Group diverted more than 3.5 million tons of waste from landfill in 2025, achieving an overall diversion rate of 37.7 percent. This progress supports Abu Dhabi’s transition toward a circular economy and strengthens waste management infrastructure.
Tadweer Environmental Services and Solutions (TESS) became operational, while Tajmee’e was established as an AI-powered arm for waste collection and transportation. Tadweer Group acquired a strategic stake in the Emirates Waste-to-Energy plant. Construction of the Al Bihouth Waste-to-Energy plant reached 65 percent completion.
Etienne Petit, Chief Executive Officer of Tadweer Group, said: “2025 marked an important year of strategic growth for Tadweer Group as we strengthened our operations and invested in the infrastructure and capabilities needed to recover greater value from waste. We remain focused on building the partnerships, technologies and integrated solutions that can turn waste into resources and energy, supporting our ambition to divert 80 percent of Abu Dhabi’s municipal solid waste from landfill by 2031.”
Environmental gains included a reduction of 75,695 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions compared with 2024. Climate-related risks were assessed across 100 percent of operational sites. Social efforts included workforce diversity, national talent development and Emiratisation. Tadweer Group also delivered 293 community engagement initiatives, while local suppliers received 96.1 percent of procurement spending.
Tadweer Group joined the United Nations Global Compact during 2025 and secured 4 new ISO certifications covering greenhouse gases, governance, water efficiency and circular economy practices. The sustainability report references the Global Reporting Initiative, UN Sustainable Development Goals, UN Global Compact, ADX ESG Disclosure Guidelines 2025 and SASB Waste Management Standard.
