Interview: Mohammed Saleem on Turning ESG into a Daily Advantage

by Hadeer Elhadary

In today’s rapidly shifting business landscape, sustainability is no longer a side project or a PR slogan—it is a core driver of competitiveness. Few people embody this shift more clearly than Mohammed Saleem, founder of EMtribe and Fia Ventures, and the visionary behind the CARE series of events. In this exclusive interview, Saleem explains how he is turning ESG from a compliance burden into a measurable, continuous advantage for businesses.

-Many leaders talk about sustainability as a slogan. How do you approach it differently?
Sustainability for me is more than a slogan. As the founder of EMtribe, Fia Ventures, and the driving force behind the CARE series of events led by Trescon – the company I founded in 2016 – I focus on measurable change, not feel-good pledges. My goal is to give businesses the tools, data, and direction to turn ESG from a compliance chore into a source of edge.
Companies know why ESG matters. What they need now is the “how.”

-What motivated you to start this journey?
My journey began with one frustration: companies were stalled between intent and impact. Reporting frameworks kept growing, yet progress stayed in pilot mode. Rather than wait, I built a solution: EMtribe, a platform that makes execution the default.

– Can you explain how EMtribe works?
EMtribe is an ESG intelligence engine. It delivers real-time views of emissions, supply chains, and progress, so teams can fix issues weekly—not quarterly. No consultant queues, no guesswork. ESG becomes visible, accountable, and wired into everyday operations.

-Alongside EMtribe, you also run Fia Ventures. What role does it play?
Where EMtribe upgrades incumbents, Fia Ventures bankrolls bold ideas. Through this venture arm, we fund start-ups tackling carbon intelligence, green logistics, and transition finance. Beyond capital, founders tap into mentors, policy links, and pilot pipelines.
Start-ups already move fast. We give them the rails and runway to scale impact where it matters.

-You also helped launch the CARE series of events. What is the purpose behind it?
I was tired of talk-shop conferences, so I helped launch the CARE (Climate Action & Renewable Energy Expo) series of events. In CARE, workshops replace waffle, pairing investors, talent, and operators to solve execution gaps on the spot. EMtribe powered the recently concluded CARE Dialogues industry round table, which introduced EMtribe to the world as a key enabler of ESG skills and delivery.

-Finally, how do you see the future of sustainability execution?
My vision is simple: run sustainability like payroll—always on, trackable, and ROI-driven. Through EMtribe’s infrastructure, Fia Ventures’ capital, and CARE’s community, I am building the rails for fast, scalable ESG action.
Sustainability should operate like any other business function—measurable and continuous.
