Solar Wadi and the Arab Open University Oman (AOU Oman) have announced the signing of a Solar PV agreement. As per the agreement, Solar Wadi will lead the development, funding, and running of a new solar plant, with AOU Oman acting as the off-taker of the renewable energy generated by the solar facility.
The 1.1 MWp solar plant will produce over 1.8 million kWh of clean and efficient electricity annually, avoiding 720 tons of CO2 annually, or 18,000 tons over 25 years, it was shared.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Mohammed Al Badi, the university Rector and Mustafa Al Hinai, Chairman of Solar Wadi, in the presence of HE Prof Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrooqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, at Oman Sustainability Week.
