At Rimini Expo Centre: from 4th to 7th November 2025, Ecomondo, organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), will turn the spotlight on the circular, green and blue economies by bringing companies, researchers and institutions together in a global dialogue. Covering 166,000 m2 of exhibition area, the event will be divided into seven thematic macro-areas, each dedicated to a key aspect of the ecological transition. In addition to the areas and districts to discover, sustainability professionals and stakeholders will be able to delve deeper into the main topics regarding the ecological transition by participating in the numerous conferences scheduled.
THE VALUE OF POLITICAL AND SCIENTIFIC DEBATE
The conference programme, organized by Ecomondo’s Scientific Technical Committee, chaired by Professor Fabio Fava, will explore crucial themes regarding every aspect of sustainability. In the Sites and Soil Restoration sector, the fourth edition of the “States General for soil health – Circular bioeconomy and opportunities for soil regeneration”, organized by Ecomondo’s STC & Re Soil Foundation and the National Bioeconomy Coordination Board (NBCB), will shed light on the latest bioeconomy news, offering an update on the most recent European policies, including the “Soil monitoring law”, the new European Strategy for the Bioeconomy and the “Vision for Agriculture and Food”. The benefits resulting from the EU Mission “A Soil Deal for Europe” at both European and national levels will also be highlighted together with an overview of projects that link soil health, agriculture and innovation in Europe and Africa.
In the Environmental Monitoring and Earth Observation sector, the conference entitled “From sky to ground: Earth observation for sustainable critical raw materials management”, organized by Ecomondo’s Scientific Technical Committee & the Polytechnic of Turin, CINECA and Spatial Agency, will explore how Earth observation (EO) technologies and satellite data are transforming our ability to monitor, evaluate and manage environmental impacts and critical raw material supply chains.
The Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy areas will feature “Technological solutions for resource recovery from end-of-life products and materials in the Mediterranean landscape” organized by Società Chimica Italiana – CABC Division, ISWA international, ATIA – ISWA. The event will take a close look at technological innovations able to favour greater reusability of resources and generate environmental benefits in several economic fields.
The Water Cycle and Blue Economy area will offer a two-session conference entitled “European and Mediterranean nature-based, digital and cyber-physical initiatives projects to innovate water management”, organized by Ecomondo’s STC with the European Commission, UTILITALIA, IRSA-CNR (Water Research Institute), the Polytechnic University of Marche, ISPRA, WATER4ALL and Water Europe, to explore European and Mediterranean initiatives that combine nature-based, digital and cyber-physical solutions for more efficient water management. Innovative projects with conservation, quality, distribution, treatment, and circularity applications will be illustrated, promoting collaboration between institutions, research and industry for sustainable and resilient water management.
Lastly, the Circular and Regenerative Bioeconomy area will hold the “What bioeconomy for the next generation? Education, innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities across the Mediterranean and Africa” conference, organized by Ecomondo’s STC of & Italian Circular Bioeconomy Cluster, which will examine the role of young people in the bioeconomy, between difficulties in accessing decision-making power, rural-urban migration, and the need for new skills. Initiatives will be presented to create attractive employment, support young entrepreneurship, and strengthen interdisciplinary training. Particular attention will be paid to the Mediterranean and Africa, where the sustainable promotion of biological resources can promote food security, work and social stability.
The Forum Africa Green Growth: International Cooperation and Partnerships with Mediterranean and Africa will also be back at Ecomondo 2025.
